Russell Hopes Hudson Wins Oscar The Associated Press Kurt Russell is acting like a doting dad. He's hoping Kate Hudson, daughter of actress Goldie Hawn, will bring home an Oscar for ``Almost Famous.'' ``She's the same age as her mom was when she was nominated and Goldie won. It would be a fun night for us if she were to win. And we would have a blast,'' said Russell, Hawn's longtime companion. Hawn won an Oscar for 1969's ``Cactus Flower.'' Hudson, 21, brought home a Golden Globe earlier this year for her role as free-spirited Penny Lane in ``Almost Famous,'' directed by Cameron Crowe. ``It's a spectacular performance,'' Russell told reporters recently. ``I mean, there's one scene in that movie where as an actor I can tell you the degree of difficulty is as tough as it gets; to cry and laugh and go through eight emotions at one time.'' Russell's new film, ''3000 Miles to Graceland,'' is now in theaters nationwide.
